
TCU Concludes Final Meet Before Big 12 Championships

Frogs finish regular season at Sterkel Classic
FORT WORTH – The TCU swimming team and diving team wrapped up its final meet before heading to the 2025 Big 12 Championships Feb. 25-March 1.
The Frogs tallied six first place finishes, three second place finishes, and 11 third place finishes at the Sterkel Classic.
IN THE POOL
The Frogs started the meet off strong with a podium sweep in the men's 100 back. Nigel Forbes secured first, Filip Suchanski in second, and Elliott Jones in third.
Claire Chahbandour delivered a historic performance in the women's 100 breast, claiming first place with a time of 59.91. Chahbandour shattered the school record and became the first female swimmer in TCU history to break the one-minute barrier in the event. Ella Stein followed up with a strong third-place finish, setting a new personal best of 1:01.57.
Jordan Edwards claimed the top spot in the women's 200 fly with an impressive 2:02.22 also earning a new personal record. Stella Todd followed finishing third in the event.
Jadon Wuilliez claimed first place in men's 50 free with his time of 19.85, while Luke Dimicelli secured third place with a time of 20.02.
In the men's 1650 free, Kornel Kohalmi posted a new personal best, finishing third with a time of 15:29.03.
Filip Suchanski added to his success, taking first place in the men's 200 back. Edgar Cicanci followed with a third-place finish in the event.
Aaron Wilmes earned a third-place finish in the men's 500 freestyle, while Jeanne Dahmen also placed third in the women's 100 fly with a time of 54.66.
Colby Hurt set a new personal record in the women's 200 IM, securing second place with a time of 2:02.47. Karolin Kostar was close behind, finishing third at 2:02.51.
Viktor Hristov delivered a strong performance in the men's 100 freestyle, clocking a personal-best time of 43.77 to take second place. Dimicelli followed closely behind, finishing third in 43.78.
