Senior earns second academic award in as many days
FORT WORTH – A dominant force on the pitch and in the classroom, Seven Castain of the TCU women's soccer team earned United Soccer Coaches Scholar First Team All-American accolades, the organization announced Thursday.
This announcement comes just a day after Castain was tabbed a CSC First Team Academic All-American along with 10 other players nationally.
Castain joins 12 other individuals on the United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-American First Team, and the senior is the only player from the Big 12 to be a member on the first team. She is also among a short list of student-athletes to have a perfect 4.0 GPA on the list, as only five Scholar All-Americans achieved the impressive feat.
Earlier this week, Castain was also named a Honda Sport Award finalist, an award which symbolizes "the best of the best in collegiate athletics."
A forward from Draper, Utah, Castain earned 2025 United Soccer Coaches All-America first-team honors last week and was a MAC Hermann Trophy semifinalist after tying the program's single-season goals record with 17. She posted 38 points, second-most in school history, and tallied six multi-goal games, including two hat tricks.
In the postseason, Castain scored five goals in two matches en route to TCU's NCAA run to the College Cup. The forward also collected NCAA Elite Scholar-Athlete accolades during the NCAA Tournament to add onto her impressive resume both this year and for her career.
