Pedrico, Rolland De Ravel victorious in opening round
ORLANDO Fla. – Cosme Rolland De Ravel and Albert Pedrico were both victorious at the NCAA Individual Championships as TCU concluded the fall portion of its 2025-26 season.
Rolland De Ravel won his opening round singles match against 34th-ranked Alex Frusina of Texas A&M, 7-5, 5-7, 7-6 (8) on Tuesday at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Fla. He and Pedrico teamed up for a 6-3, 7-6 (3) first round doubles victory over Delaware's Tobey Lock and Euan Mackenzie the following day.
Both players ultimately fell in round two in their respective disciplines and one win short of achieving ITA All-American status.
Rolland De Ravel earned the highest-ranked singles victory of his career with his triumph over Frusina. TCU's lone senior, Rolland De Ravel competed to an 8-3 record with three ranked wins over the course of the fall season.
He and Pedrico, the preseason ITA No. 4 tandem, notched a trio of ranked wins at the ITA Central Sectional Championships on Nov. 6-9 to earn seeded positioning.
Duncan Chan was the third Horned Frog in action in the Sunshine State. He earned the No. 2 overall seed in the 64-man singles bracket after rattling off 10 top-100 wins in September. Chan ultimately was bit by the upset bug, dropping a topsy-turvy three set affair to eventual All-American Romain Gales of Clemson, 2-6, 7-6 (5), 6-7 (10).
Chan arrived in Orlando just two days removed from reaching the singles championship at the ATP Challenger Drummondville in Quebec, Canada. He played five matches in a six-day span before commencing his participation at the NCAA Championships.
Chan closed out his fall season with a 12-2 singles mark and 18-3 overall record. Including doubles, 12 his wins were vs. ranked players.
Collectively, eight Horned Frogs who saw collegiate hardcourt action this fall produced a 67-33 combined record.
TCU now breaks for the winter holidays before opening the dual portion of its season on Jan. 11 vs. Abilene Christian at the indoor Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center. Six of the Horned Frogs' first eight matches will take place on the purple courts.
