TCU led by as many as 14 in the first half
FORT WORTH – TCU led by as many as 14 points but could not withstand a hot-shooting Kansas team in a 74-61 loss to the No. 12 Jayhawks Wednesday in Schollmaier Arena.
The Horned Frogs (10-8, 3-4) used an early 15-2 run to lead 18-6 seven minutes into the game. The TCU lead expanded to 14, 26-12 with 9:08 to play in the half after a floater by Vasean Allette. The Jayhawks (14-4, 5-2) slowly closed the gap and tied it before halftime until an Allette layup gave the Frogs a 35-33 advantage at the half.
TCU trailed the majority of the second half but held a 48-47 lead after an alley-oop by Trazarien White off a pass from Noah Reynolds.
KU shot 60.7 percent from the field in the second half and made five of its last six shots. TCU went cold on offense, shooting 32.3 percent in the second half and missed its last six shots.
Reynolds led the Frogs, which shot 37.9 percent from the field, with 14 points, including 2-of-5 shooting from three. Allette had 11 of his 13 points in the first half and finished with a team-high three assists. Wenzel rounded out the double figure scoring with 11.
The Jayhawks shot 55.6 percent and were led by their front court duo of Hunter Dickinson and Flory Bidunga. Dickinson finished with 16 points and nine rebounds and Bidungoa had 10 points and 10 boards to go with four blocks.
The Horned Frogs will next play at UCF on Saturday at 3 p.m. The game will air on ESPN+.

- Ernest Udeh Jr., who played his freshman season at Kansas, finished with seven points, eight rebounds and a career-high five steals.
- Vasean Allette scored in double-figures for the ninth-straight game with 13.
- Allette led the Frogs in assists for the fifth-straight game with three.
- Noah Reynolds scored 14 points. It was his eighth-straight game scoring in double figures.
- Trazarien White was 1-of-4 from 3-point range. It was his 12th-straight game with a made 3-pointer. He finished with nine points.
