Three Horned Frogs earn MOP honors
ATHENS, Ga. – The TCU equestrian team secured a 10-8 victory over Georgia Saturday afternoon. Laurel Smith (Flat), Jessica McAllister (Horsemanship) and Kylie Baker (Reining) each earned MOP honors for the Horned Frogs.
Flat
Starting the meet off in the Flat arena, the Frogs fought hard but came up short in the event by a 4-1 score. Laurel Smith turned in a solid score for the Frogs with a 90, besting her opponent's score of 89 en route to MOP honors in the event.
Reining
In the western arena, a close race saw two ties on the board. Kylie Baker laid down a beautiful ride scoring a 72.5 against her opponent, Cadence Eger's 70.5. She was also named MOP for the event. It was Baker's second career win and first MOP honor.
Fifth-year senior, Shea Graham picked up a point for the Frogs with a 71 over Georgia's Raegan Shepherd's 68.5. Kaylene Cunningham also won her point scoring a 71.5 against Jax Bound on Boaz.
Fences
Back in the English arena, the Frogs took a tightly-contested 3-2 win. Jordyn Scelsa won her point 83-82. Lilly Goldstein won her point scoring an 85 against Georgia's 82. Graduate student, Ashleigh Scully clenched her point with a substantial point spread scoring a 90 against Isabella David's 61.
Horsemanship
The final event of the day was horsemanship where the Frogs took the lead. Graduate students Payton Boutelle, Shea Graham, and Jessica McAllister all won their points for TCU. Boutelle scored a 76 against the Bulldogs' 73. Graham scored an impressive 77 versus a 73.5. Finally, Jessica McAllister marked a 77.5 to win her point and be awarded the MOP for the event.

The Horned Frogs will be back home at Bear Creek Farm for the next meet against Oklahoma State on Oct. 3.
Flat
