Four players finish even or under par
NORMAN, Okla. – Four Horned Frogs finished even or under par to guide TCU to a fourth place finish at the Schooner Fall Classic on Monday.
TCU carded an even-par 280 in round three and concluded the two-round affair at three-under (557).
The tournament was shortened to 36 holes after thunderstorms nullified the round two. All scores from Sunday's second round were voided ahead of moving day.
Camille Min-Gaultier tied for 11th (-2, 138) and topped the Frogs' leaderboard. One of two freshman in TCU's lineup, Min-Gaultier shot a collegiate low round record 67 (-3) on Monday. She bagged five birdies, tied for the team high and three of which came on the front nine. Min-Gaultier, a native of La Llonde les-Maures, France, secured the first sub-70 round of her career.
Kirstin Angosta joined Min-Gaultier under par, tying for 16th at one-under 139. She began the day a solo third after posting a four-under 66 in the opening round. Angosta posted her second consecutive top-20 and third of her two-year TCU tenure with the result. From Coppell High School, Angosta has finished inside the top-30 of the individual leaderboard in six of her nine career starts.
Sofia Barroso Sá and Gracie McGovern shot an even-par 70 in rounds one and three and tied for 19th. Barroso Sá was four-under through 11 holes. She ascended into third place and one stroke off the lead behind the birdie surge. A triple bogey on 13 stymied her bid for a second career medal. Barroso Sá collected her fifth-and-final birdie on 17 to get her scorecard back to even. McGovern was one-under over her final seven holes.
Meagan Winans finished seven-over and tied for 63rd. She tied Min-Gaultier for the tournament high in birdies, sprinkling in four apiece in rounds one and three.
TCU finished six strokes back of tournament champion Houston. Auburn (-7, 553) and Florida State (-6, 554) rounded out the top-three.
The performance will likely age well as TCU builds its postseason resume. The Horned Frogs placed ahead of six 2024 NCAA Tournament participants, including Big 12 counterparts Kansas State, Iowa State and Oklahoma State.
TCU has placed sixth-or-better in each of its three tournaments in 2024-25.
