Tournament will be shortened to 36 holes
NORMAN, Okla. – The second round of the Schooner Fall Classic was suspended on Sunday due to persistent rain.
Play will resume at 9:30 or 11 a.m. on Monday depending on overnight rainfall. The tournament will be shortened to 36 holes.
Two scoring scenarios are in play following the weather determination. Teams will either begin round three and disregard second round scores or complete round two.
TCU entered the day in third place and was among the last teams go out and completed three holes.
Should the second round resume, TCU will enter Monday's finale tied with Houston for second at five-under and trail Auburn for the lead by two strokes. In that scenario, both Kirstin Angosta and Sofia Barroso Sá would enter the tee box inside the top-10 of the individual leaderboard. Angosta was tied for third at four-under when play was paused. She only completed the first hole. Barroso Sá birded the first two holes and climbed into a tie for ninth. The junior carded an even-par 70 on Saturday.
The Horned Frogs shot a three-under 277 in the opening round. If round two is scrapped, TCU will start four shots back of Auburn and one stroke behind Houston.
