
TCU Turns In Solid Score at Navy

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – TCU kicked off the 2024-25 campaign with a solid performance at Navy on Saturday. A lineup that featured six newcomers, including three new counters, produced six of the top 10 aggregate scores in the match. The Horned Frogs fired a team score of 4,716, topping Navy's score of 4,704.
In smallbore, TCU shot a team-score of 2,344. The Frogs added a 2,372 in air rifle to produce the top marks in both disciplines in the match.
Katie Zaun led all shooters with an aggregate of 1,187. In her collegiate debut, Christina Hillinger's aggregate of 1,180 was third. Mikole Hogan (1,176) finished fifth, followed by Rylie Passmore (1,173) in sixth, Marissa Fedora (1,169) in ninth and Micah Hames (1,165) in 10th.
TCU produced five of the top seven individual marks in smallbore. Zaun topped the field with a 592. Hogan fired a 585 followed closely by Hillenger's 584. Fedora and Passmore each fired a 583 to account for TCU's team score.
Hillenger tied for the top air rifle mark after shooting a 596. She topped her opponent with 53 center shots to take home top spot in the discipline. Zaun fired a 590, Hogan a 591 and Passmore a 590 to contribute to the team's final score. While not factoring in the team score, Hames set a career-high, shooting a 590.
Also making their collegiate debuts in the match were Meredith Stuart (553 smallbore, 578 air rifle) and Ziva Swick (571 smallbore).
TCU returns to action on Sunday, Oct. 20 against Georgia Southern. The match will take place on the Army campus in West Point, N.Y.
