TCU in Ninth after Opening Round

Beauchamp, Pagdin lead the Frogs in 23rd place
SAN ANTONIO – After an opening round of 4-under par on Saturday, TCU's men's golf team is in ninth place at the Valero Texas Collegiate.
Jack Beauchamp and Joe Pagdin paced the Frogs with scores of 2-under 70. Pagdin got off to a hot start going 5-under through the first eight holes for a first nine score of 5-under 31. Pagdin was 3-over on the second nine. Beauchamp also had a good first nine at 3-under 33, including three birdies and one eagle. They both finished the day in a tie for 23rd place.
Scott Roden shot 1-under 71 and finished the round tied for 34th place.
Charlie Wylie and Toby Wilt tied for 50th place at 1-over 73. Wylie put together a solid first nine holes at 2-under 34, which included three birdies.
The Horned Frogs will begin the second round at 8 a.m. on hole No. 1.
