For defensive lineman Nana Osafo-Mensah, returning to Fort Worth for his final season is a full-circle moment, bringing him back to his roots.
After a successful career at Notre Dame, Nana knew there was no better place to complete his collegiate journey than in his hometown. "It just felt right to come back and play in front of people who've been there for me from the start."
Nana's decision to return to Fort Worth was driven by his family's support, as they have made countless trips to watch him play. "My family has always been there for me, traveling to Notre Dame to see me. Knowing I could finish my college career right here where they could easily be in the stands-it just felt like the perfect opportunity. Being surrounded by the people who matter most will make this season extra special. Having my family here, right where I'm playing, means everything to me," Nana added.
Reconnecting with his childhood best friends like Ron Brown, has also been a big part of Nana's return home. "Ron is like a brother to me…He's been a guy that's really helped me make the adjustment coming back to Fort Worth. I owe so much to him," Nana shared.
As Nana reflects on his growth over the years, both as a player and a person, he's focused on leaving a legacy of family and support. Nana says, "I've learned ways to not only help players but talk with certain players. I think sometimes we forget we have a life outside of football, so I want to be sure to be impacting guys to remember to always be there for one another and take care of each other."
The support from the TCU and Fort Worth community has been beyond anything Nana expected. "It's been amazing to come back and feel so welcomed. Running into people who remember me from high school and feeling the love from the TCU family-inside and outside the building has meant everything to me."
For Nana, this season goes beyond football—it's about family, friendships, and completing his journey where it all began, with the support of the Fort Worth community.
