AUSTIN, Texas – Gustav Frimodt completed his second-straight round of 2-under 69 in the second round of the NCAA Austin Regional on Tuesday at the University of Texas Golf Club.
The senior began the round with back-to-back birdies and then made par the rest of the way. He finished the second round tied for sixth place at 4-under 138.
To advance to the NCAA Championships, Frimodt must be the top individual that's not on a team in the top five at the conclusion of Wednesday's final round.
Standing in the way of a spot at nationals is former teammate Jacob Skov Olesen (-4) of Arkansas and current leader Michael Brennan (-7) of Wake Forest. Arkansas is four shots away from the top five and Wake Forest is two shots from the top five.
Frimodt will begin the final round at 10:04 a.m. on Wednesday.
