TCU wins final road dual

DALLAS, Texas – The TCU women's tennis team (11-6, 6-4 Big 12) took down the No. 40 SMU Mustangs 4-1 in final road test of the season at Styslinger/Altec Tennis Complex.

The Horned Frogs move to 11-6 overall and finished the season 4-4 on the road.

LEE'S THOUGHTS
"This has been the character of the team all season," said head coach Lee Taylor Walker. "We get knocked down, we lose a tight match, things don't go our way and yet they come together and believe and fight and grow and respond with a solid performance and get the W. We had a tough practice Tuesday where the ladies really improved and put the work in."

"We felt prepared for today and we believe our best tennis is still ahead of us. So many good performances today where everyone contributed. Proud of the team and pumped for Baylor."

THE RUNDOWN
The Horned Frogs earned the doubles point with wins coming from courts one and two. Chiho Mushika and Yu-Chin Tsai earned their eighth win as a pair and first win on the second court 6-2. Jade Otway and Isabel Pascual found themselves on court one for the first time this season and won the match 6-3 to clinch the point.

TCU led 1-0 going into singles but the Mustangs were quick to react with a win on court four to make it 1-1. Otway won her fourth match of the season on court two in straight sets to make it 2-1. Pascual followed suit with a 6-3, 6-4 win on court three to advance to 11-5 on the season.

Raquel Caballero Chica clinched the match for the Horned Frogs with a 7-6, 6-2 win over Carolina McGinley.
