
TCU Concludes Play at Big 12 Championship, Awaits Postseason Fate

Horned Frogs shot a low round 289 (+5) on final day
HOCKLEY, Texas – Time and time again, TCU has played its strongest 18 holes on moving day, and that trend carried over into the Horned Frogs final regular season round.
The Horned Frogs carded a five-over 289 in round three of the Big 12 Championship on Saturday at The Clubs at Houston Oaks in Hockley, Texas. TCU came one stroke shy of tying its tournament low round record. With Saturday's showing, the Horned Frogs turned in their low round score in eight of 10 events in 2023-24.
TCU shared 10th place with Oklahoma at plus-30 (882). The Horned Frogs were a combined 12-over in rounds one and three.
Sofia Barroso Sá, Meagan Winans and Sofie Dimitrova each shot a seven-over 220 to tie for 26th.
Barroso Sá scored par-or-better on 42 holes and finished four-over (75) on Saturday.
Winans was even par (70) in the final round. She carded two birdies on the back nine after starting on 13, then played bogey free golf over her last 11 holes.
Dimitrova tallied a team-high 10 birdies over the 54-hole affair, five of which came in the final round. She tied Barroso Sá for TCU's low-36 hole score (+3, 145).
Fellow freshman Kirstin Angosta finished one-over on Saturday – her low round for the tournament – and was even par over her last 13 holes.
Rounding out TCU's scoring was Lois Lau, the Horned Frogs lone senior, who shot a two-over 73 in her last regular season event.
TCU now awaits its postseason fate ahead of the NCAA Tournament selection show on Wednesday. The Horned Frogs entered the Big 12 Championship tabbed No. 58 in the Scoreboard team rankings and firmly on the bubble of earning a 20th straight ticket to the Big Dance. Lau, currently ranked 69th among all D1 players, could also qualify as an individual.
