The Horned Frogs are tied for second after two rounds at the Hawkeye Invitational
IOWA CITY, Iowa – TCU's men's golf team is tied for second place after 36 holes on Saturday in day one of the Hawkeye Invitational.
The Horned Frogs had an opening round score of 10-under 274, the best of any of the 16-team field. TCU was 5-over 289 in the second round and 5-under 563 for the day.
Andrew Petruzzelli and Jack Beauchamp are currently inside the top 10. Petruzzelli is tied for sixth with a score of 3-under 139. The freshman shot 3-under 68 in the first round and even-par 71 in the second.
Beauchamp also shot 3-under 68 in the first and was 1-over 72 in the second. He is tied for ninth at 2-under 140.
Chris Berzina is tied for 31st place after shooting 1-over 143 for the day. Ethan Dial was 3-over 145 and is tied for 41st place along with Toby Wilt, who fired an opening round 4-under 67.
The Horned Frogs are tied with Central Arkansas and five shots back of tournament leader, Wisconsin (-10). The final round at Finkbine Golf Course will begin at 8:15 a.m. with a shotgun start.
