Myers and Robinson hit their first career home runs
The Rundown
Opportunities for both teams was the story of the first inning. TCU failed to capitalize on its chance, leaving the bases loaded, but Kansas did, taking a 1-0 lead on a sacrifice fly in its half of the frame.
TCU took a 2-1 lead in the fourth on a two-run home run from Sam Myers. But in the fifth, a trio of extra base hits gave the Jayhawks a 3-2 lead. The Jayhawks added three in the sixth on a pair of home runs and a two-out base hit to open up a 6-2 lead.
The Frogs had a golden opportunity to get back in the game in the seventh as they loaded the bases with nobody out. It took a two out bases loaded walk to Anthony Silva for the Frogs to get on the board, but the Frogs couldn't come up with the big hit and left the bases loaded.
Kansas pushed it's lead to 8-3 with a two run home run in the seventh. Ryder Robinson's first career home run in the eighth accounted for the final score.
Kole Klecker (0-1) took the loss after allowing five runs on eight hits in 5 1/3 innings. He fanned three.
