Frogs close out the regular season 11-1
Dallas, Texas – The top-ranked TCU equestrian team faced a tough challenge against the No. 3 SMU Mustangs, resulting in a hard-fought 11-7 defeat on Friday morning at the Dallas Equestrian Center in the final regular-season meet.
Despite this setback, the Horned Frogs conclude the regular season with an 11-1 record, marking the best performance in program history. Their flawless 6-0 record in conference play underscores their dominance throughout the season.
FLAT
The flat team started the meet for the Horned Frogs dropping the event 3-2 to the Mustangs. Laurel Smith won her point on Charlie with the score of 85 before Lilly Goldstein followed by winning her point on Emil with a 75. Goldstein closes out the regular season with a 10-2-0 record in the event.
HORSEMANSHIP
The horsemanship team concluded with a 3-2 score, Mustangs. Shea Graham won her point and tenth dual of the season on Shirley with a 71.5. Mattie Dukes stayed perfect in regular season play (12-0) earning her point on Sam with a 76.
FENCES
Fences kicked off the second half of the meet for the Frogs tying 2-2 with the Mustangs. Goldstein earned her first career win in the event with an 85 on Oliver. Ella Bostwick won her point on Hardy with an 85.
REINING
Reining closed out the with a 1-3 overall score. Graham won her point and extended her career win total to 32 on Jellybean with a 71.
UP NEXT
TCU will prepare for the Big 12 Championships which will be held March 29-30 in Waco, Texas at the Willis Equestrian Center.
