TCU hit five home runs in the game
The Rundown
For the second straight game TCU found itself facing a six-run deficit going into the sixth inning. Chase Brunson got the Frogs back into the game with a two-run blast to make it a 10-6 ballgame.
In the eighth, TCU sent 11 batters to the plate and scored seven times to turn a four-run deficit into a three-run lead, 13-10. Luke Boyers opened the inning with his first home run of the season. Four batters later, the bases were loaded for Kurtis Byrne, who delivered a two-run single to make it a one-run ballgame.
Payton Tolle's first home run as a Horned Frog was a big one as he delivered a three-run blast to right center to give the Frogs their first lead since the second inning. Anthony Silva drew a walk, stole second and scored an insurance run on Boyers' second hit of the inning.
The Frogs stormed out to an early 3-0 lead after two innings. Peyton Chatagnier's first home run of the game led off the first for the Frogs. Back-to-back doubles from Tolle and Silva made it a 2-0 game. Chatagnier drove in his second run of the game in the third.
Ben Abledt pitched around a two-out hit with a pair of strikeouts in the ninth to secure the win and earn his first save of the season.
As they did in Game 1, the Eagles used a four-run third to take a 4-3 lead. An unearned run in the fourth was answered by Chatagnier's second home run of the game. Florida Gulf Coast batted around in the fifth and scored five times to build a 10-4 lead.
Kole Klecker started for the Horned Frogs. He allowed five runs (four earned) on seven hits. He walked one and struck out four in the no-decision. Braeden Sloan (1-0) picked up the win in relief with a scoreless eighth.

16 - Of TCU's 23 runs scored this season, 16 have come in the sixth inning or later. The Horned Frogs scored two runs in the sixth and seven in the eighth to rally for the win on Saturday.
