Horned Frogs and Rainbow Wahine meet in first round matchup
EUGENE, Ore. – Playing in the NCAA Tournament for the third straight year, No. 20 TCU takes on Hawaii in the first round of the Big Dance on Thursday, Dec. 5, at 6 p.m. CT. The No. 5 seed in the upper left quadrant, the Horned are also joined by High Point and the host Oregon in the Eugene Regional.
TCU NOTABLES
• TCU is one of 30 teams to appear in each of the last three NCAA Tournaments.
• It marks the first time in program history the Frogs have been in the Big Dance three consecutive seasons.
• The past two years, TCU won its first-round matchups, defeating Washington 3-1 in 2022 and Florida State 3-1 in 2023.
• The Horned Frogs recorded their first 20-win season since 2011, including a program record 13 wins in Big 12 play.

Prior to that TCU and Hawaii met in the first round of the 2015 NCAA Tournament in College Station, Texas, where UH advanced to the second round in five sets.
SCOUTING REPORT
Fresh off winning the Big West Conference Tournament and earning an automatic bid to the Big Dance, Hawaii volleyball gears up for its 42nd NCAA Tournament in program history. The Rainbow Wahine posted a 22-7 mark on the season, including a win over now-ranked SMU (3-0) and losses at Baylor (1-3) and Texas (1-3). The three-time national champions are 83-38 all-time in the NCAA Tournament. Thursday's matchup is sure to produce fireworks as two of the top attackers in the nation go head-to-head. Hawaii's Caylen Alexander leads all of Division I volleyball with 602 total kills and 667.5 points. TCU's Melanie Parra follows closely behind with 620.5 points (third) and 531 kills (seventh).

• Averaging 5.06 kills per set and 5.91 points per set, Parra led the Big 12 and ranked among the nation's best attackers.
