TCU wide receiver is one of three players nationally in the top 10 for receiving yards and TD catches
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- The Tallahassee Quarterback Club Foundation has announced TCU wide receiver Jack Bech as a semifinalist for the Biletnikoff Award, recognizing college football's outstanding receiver at any position.
Bech is one of just three players nationally in the top 10 in receiving yards and touchdown catches.
Bech's 982 receiving yards are sixth in the country while he's tied for eighth with nine touchdown catches. His 16 receptions of at least 20 yards tie for ninth in the FBS. He has 56 catches on the season.
Bech needs 18 yards to record the sixth 1,000-yard season in TCU history. He would become just the fifth player as Josh Doctson reached the mark in the 2014-15 seasons. The last Horned Frog with 1,000 yards was Quentin Johnston with 1,069 in TCU's 2022 College Football Playoff season.
A senior from Lafayette, La., Bech has posted four 100-yard games this season and three contests with multiple touchdown grabs. He had a career-high 10 receptions for 131 yards and two touchdowns in a 38-27 win at Kansas and totaled a career-best 200 yards receiving, including a 50-yard touchdown, on nine catches versus UCF. Bech became the first Horned Frog with 200 yards receiving since Johnston had 206 at Kansas in 2022. The 200 yards rank ninth for a game in TCU history and are sixth-most by a Power Four Conference player this season.
Bech has five receptions of at least 43 yards which also represent the five-longest catches of his career.
Doctson was a Biletnikoff Award finalist in 2015.
