Preview: Texas Diving Invitational

AUSTIN – The TCU diving team heads to Austin for its mid-season competition at the Texas Diving Invitational running Nov. 15-17 at the Jamail Texas Swim Center.
The Horned Frogs traveled ten student-athletes this weekend including Oliver Cazaly, Elliott Dillon, David Ekdahl, and Bryn James on the men's side and Lauren Cey, Leah Fletcher, Emma Larcada Herrera, Eszter Kovacs, Anna Kwong, and Jordyn Warner on the women's side.
Kwong was recently named the Big 12 Diver of the Week for the second time this season after setting season-bests in the 1-meter and 3-meter events against SMU and Arkansas. The senior from Omaha, N.E. won the women's 1m event with a score of 334.05, a 27-point gap for the victory. She also performed well in the 3m, scoring 341.75 and placing second by less than four points.
Ekdahl has also earned a Big 12 Diver of the Week honor after making NCAA Zone cuts on both the 1m and 3m while helping the Horned Frogs defeat No. 24 ranked SMU. The senior from Malmo, Sweden finished second on the 1m with a score of 375.60 and third on the 3m with a score of 361.73. Ekdahl was just four points behind first-place finisher Luke Sitz on the 1m.
The Frogs look to continue their success on the boards this weekend against some of the top programs in the country. The participating teams are Stanford, Miami, Pitt, Texas, Arkansas, Utah, North Texas, and Texas A&M.
