
Horned Frogs Add Trio of Walk-Ons Ahead of Return to Court

Piper Davis, Ella Hamlin and Mekhayia Moore to suit up for remainder of 2023-24 season
FORT WORTH – TCU has added Piper Davis, Ella Hamlin and Mekhayia Moore to its roster for the remainder of the 2023-24 season.
The trio of guards received preferred walk-on invitations from head coach Mark Campbell following open tryouts on Thursday and Friday.
Four new players have joined the Horned Frogs' roster ahead of the team's return to the court vs. UCF at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday in Schollmaier Arena. TCU officially added dual-sport athlete Sarah Sylvester on Sunday.
Piper Davis | G | 5-8 | Fr. | Boise, Idaho | Timberline HS
Davis guided Timberline to the Idaho High School Activities Association (IHSAA) 5A Girls Basketball State Championship in 2022. She started every game at guard along the Wolves' championship run. Davis was selected to compete in the 2023 Idaho State All-Star Game at the conclusion of her final prep season. She was tabbed to the IdahoSports.com All-Tournament second team and earned honorable mention All-Conference accolades her senior year. Davis scored a career-high 22 points in the first round of the 2023 IHSAA 5A Girls Basketball State Championship. Davis becomes the second member of her family to play Division I basketball. Her father, Jerrod Davis, played for Gonzaga from 1989-1992.
Ella Hamlin | G | 5-9 | Fr. | Granbury, Texas | Granbury HS
Hamlin scored more than 1,500 career points over a four-year varsity run at Granbury HS. She was crowned District Offensive Player of the Year in 2022 and 2023. Hamlin averaged 18 points per game and scored a career-high 42 points at the expense of Lovelady HS her senior year. She also played one season of club basketball for Team Lex.
Mekhayia Moore | G | 5-7 | So. | Brownsboro, Texas | Brownsboro HS
Moore led the Bearettes to their first-ever TX UIL Girls Basketball State Championship as a senior in 2022. She was named State Championship MVP and chosen to the State Championship All-Tournament team following Brownsboro's title game triumph. Moore tallied more than 1,000 career points over a four-year varsity run. A dedicated student, Moore graduated as Brownsboro's 2022 Salutatorian and is a member of TCU's Chancellor's Scholars Program
