Frog Alum signs with San Diego Wave FC
FORT WORTH - TCU women's soccer midfielder Gracie Brian earned a preseason camp invite with San Diego Wave FC of the NWSL.
In her final season as a Frog, Brian was named to the All-Big 12 First Team and was tabbed a second-team United Soccer Coaches All-Midwest Region performer. She started all 19 matches and led the team with nine goals. She also added three assists for a team-high 21 points.
Brian ended her five-year career as the program's all-time leader in assists (27), second all-time in points (97) and third all-time in goals (35). Of her 35 goals, 15 stood as game-winners. She was a three time All-Big 12 first team selection, a three time all region selection, a two-time United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-American and an All-American in 2022.
TCU had five representatives in the NWSL during the 2023 season. Yazmeen Ryan won a championship with NJ/NY Gotham FC. Emily Alvarado (Houston Dash), Messiah Bright (Orlando Pride), Ryan Williams (NC Courage) and Jenna Winebrenner (Kansas City Current) were also on NWSL rosters.
