Senior turned in a four-under 66 to lead TCU
NORMAN, Okla. – On a windy afternoon on the Oklahoma plains, Lois Lau was as steady as they come.
Lau turned in a four-under 66 on day one of the Schooner Fall Classic at Belmar Golf Club in Norman, Oklahoma. She carded six birdies and is tied for second place entering Sunday's second round.
The senior's effort was the apex of TCU's collective showing in its second-of-four fall tournaments. The Horned Frogs are tied for 11th against a 15-team field after finishing 10-over-par (290).
Megan Winans maximized her homecoming. The Oklahoma transfer knocked down two birdies on her way to a 1-over 71. Winans embodied consistency. She made par on her first 12 holes before birdieng holes 16 and 18. A native of Richardson, Texas, Winans holds a share of 23rd place ahead of round two.
Freshman Sofie Dimitrova birdied the 17th hole. She finished the day at 6-over (76).
Sofia Barroso Sa sits one stroke back of Dimitrova at 7-over (77). Dimitrova and Barroso Sa are tied for 71st and 77th, respectively.
Sheridan Clancy finished the round at 11-over (81).
