FORT WORTH – Melanie Parra's career-best 27 kills led TCU to a 3-1 win over Hawai'i on Thursday night at Ed and Rae Schollmaier Arena.

The Rundown
Melanie Parra landed her first kill of the night to open the game for the Frogs. Despite Hawai'i leading most of the first set, the Frogs kept the score close. Trailing 23-21, three kills from Parra tied the contest up at 24-all.
A kill from Audrey Nalls gave TCU the 25-24 lead, but three straight kills from the Rainbow Wāhine won them the set, 27-25.
Hawai'i also led for the majority of the second frame as well, but the Frogs never gave up. Trailing 24-21, Jalyn Gibson and Parra landed kills and capitalized on two Rainbow Wāhine errors to take a 25-24 lead and ruin Hawai'i's set point. Tied at 25-all, Parra landed back-to-back kills, two of her seven kills in the set, to give TCU the 27-25 set two win.
With Nalls tallying the first kill of the frame, TCU jumped out to a 5-1 lead, a sign of what was to come throughout the third set. A dump from Riley Buckley gave TCU a 15-8 lead and the Frogs continued to build their advantage.
Up 19-12, Brianna Green posted three blocks over four points to put TCU up 22-13. A service ace from Gibson and a kill from Parra clinched the 25-15 win for the Frogs.
TCU led the entirety of set three and held Hawai'i to a match-low .000 hitting percentage. Additionally, the Frogs tallied a match-best seven blocks in the third set.
The early part of the fourth set was an even battle, but TCU began to pull away and took a 15-11 lead from a block by Gibson and Green. Parra tallied back-to-back service aces and a kill to highlight a 4-0 scoring run and TCU dominated the remainder of the set. In fitting fashion, Parra recorded the final kill for the Frogs as they won the fourth set, 25-20.
The Frogs were in control in both the third and fourth sets. Green posted six of her 10 blocks in the third set alone and Parra landed a team-best 10 kills in the fourth set with a .562 hitting percentage. She hit .453 for the match.
