Clark, Coleman, Hodge, Newton and Wiley to represent the Horned Frogs at AT&T Stadium
FORT WORTH -- The TCU football program will be represented at Big 12 Media Day on July 12 by Head Coach Sonny Dykes, safety Bud Clark, offensive lineman Brandon Coleman, linebacker Jamoi Hodge, cornerback Josh Newton and tight end Jared Wiley.
Big 12 Media Day is held at AT&T Stadium in Arlington. Coverage will be on ESPNU and Big 12 Now on ESPN+.
Newton was First-Team All-Big 12 last season, while Clark, Coleman, Hodge and Wiley were Honorable-Mention. Dykes won 10 National Coach of the Year honors as the Horned Frogs became the first program from the state of Texas to make the College Football Playoff and first from the Big 12 to reach the CFP National Championship.
Clark had a team-best five interceptions last season. His final pick was returned 41 yards for a touchdown for TCU's first points in its College Football Playoff Semifinal win over Michigan. Clark also had a fumble recovery in the game that resulted in a touchback. His five interceptions were the most by a Horned Frog since 2019 (Ar'Darius Washington), second in the Big 12 and tied for 11th nationally.
Coleman started all 15 games at left tackle last season, placing third on the TCU offense with 1,036 snaps played. Dating back to the 2021 campaign, he has started 23 of the Horned Frogs' last 24 contests. Pro Football Focus has Coleman as the third-highest graded returning offensive lineman in the Big 12.
Hodge placed third on TCU last season with 82 tackles and 4.5 sacks while starting all 15 games. His career-best 13 stops in a win at West Virginia were the most by a Horned Frog in 2022.
Newton is a Preseason All-American by multiple outlets. His 12 pass breakups last year placed second in the Big 12, behind only teammate and Jim Thorpe Award winner Tre'Vius Hodges-Tomlinson (15). Newton's three interceptions tied for second on the team. His 81.9 grade by PFF is second among returning cornerbacks in the Big 12, while his 47 career starts tie for the most nationally among active players this season.
Wiley placed fifth on TCU with 24 receptions while tying for fourth with four touchdown catches. His 10-yard scoring grab from Max Duggan with 1:57 to play tied the Oklahoma State game as the Horned Frogs rallied from a 17-point deficit for a double-overtime victory. He also had a 2-point reception from Duggan to tie the Big 12 Championship Game with 1:51 left to force overtime.
