FORT WORTH - While the preparations for the 2026 season are well underway, the #25 Horned Frogs picked up some additional recognition this week in the form of ESPN's Top 100 Players list as well as their Top 100 Games of the 2025 season list while quarterback Ken Seals added a career honor.
As a team, ESPN ranked TCU's dramatic come-from-behind overtime thriller in the 2025 Valero Alamo Bowl the No. 28 game in their top-100 list saying in part:
This was a bowl game that reflected the current era. Missing key players? Check (TCU quarterback Josh Hoover and USC star receivers Makai Lemon and Ja'Kobi Lane). Watched by millions? Check (4.9 million, in fact). Entertaining as hell? Check! - Bill Connelly
Elsewhere from ESPN, wide receiver Eric McAlister was ranked as the No. 98 player overall for the 2025 season after posting the second-most receiving yards in TCU history with 1,190. The All-American snagged 10 touchdowns on 72 catches and was a key figure in leading the locker room ahead of the bowl game.
In the bowl game itself, quarterback Ken Seals led the Frogs back from a 10-point deficit and on to the victory podium with his play in his first and only start as a Horned Frog. For his efforts, he was recognized by the Davey O'Brien Foundation as one of the "Great 8" quarterbacks in the postseason. He was joined on the list by Carson Beck (Miami), Trinidad Chambliss (Ole Miss), Devon Dampier (Utah), Arch Manning (Texas), Fernando Mendoza (Indiana), Dante Moore (Oregon), and Conner Weigman (Houston).
