
Udeh Jr. Invited to USA U19 Training Camp

TCU sophomore will head to Colorado Springs for tryouts
FORT WORTH – TCU sophomore Ernest Udeh Jr. has been invited to the training camp for the U19 USA team, held June 11-16 in Colorado Springs, Colo.
The players selected for the team will play in the 2023 FIBA U19 World Cup in Indonesia, Japan and The Philippines, Aug. 25-Sept. 10. The last TCU player to represent the United States in international competition was Mike Miles Jr., who won a gold medal with head coach Jamie Dixon at the 2021 FIBA U19 World Cup.
The 6-11 center spent the past season at Kansas where he averaged 8.3 minutes, 2.6 points and 1.8 rebounds per game. He shot 74.6 percent (34-of-45) from the field, including a KU record 21 consecutive makes over a span of 17 games.
Prior to KU, Udeh was a McDonald's All-American following his senior season at Dr. Phillips High School in Orlando, Fla., where he averaged 13.1 points and 9.2 rebounds per game in 2021-22. He was ranked as high as No. 23 nationally according by ESPN100.
As a junior, Udeh recorded 10.1 points, 9.8 rebounds and 1.9 blocked shots per game and helped Dr. Phillips High School to a state title. He also played for Southeast Elite AAU Program in Florida.
