Jaren Holmes, Morris and the men's 4x400 team record Top 25 marks in the NCAA
WACO, Texas – Jaren Holmes' and Gracie Morris' wins highlighted the final day of the Michael Johnson Invitational on Saturday at the Clyde Hart Track & Field Stadium.
Holmes recorded a 16.40m (53' 9.75") to win the triple jump finals. The senior is now fourth on TCU's all-time outdoor records list and is tied for No. 6 in the NCAA this season.
Morris rewrote her third school record this season, this time in the 800m. Morris' kick propelled her from third to first in the final 300m as she ran a 2:03.97, her personal-best by over one second and the 21st-fastest time in the NCAA this season.
Both men's relay teams ran season-bests. In the men's 4x100, Emmanuel Ekong, Donnie James, Jais Smith and Simbarashe Maketa clocked a 39.69 to finish second overall.
The men's 4x400 team of James, Maketa, Ethan Brown and David Seete clocked a season-best 3:04.30 to finish third overall, currently tied for the No. 24 mark in the NCAA this season.
In the women's 100m, Gray ran a 11.41 to finish second among collegiate athletes and fifth overall. Theophilus Mudzengerere (15.74m) and Gavin Champ (15.10m) rounded out the men's triple jump, finishing third and fifth, respectively.
In the men's 400m, James ran a personal-best 45.85 to take fifth overall. On the women's side, Samarra Monrroy ran a personal-best time of 53.63 to place 10th.
Ke'Yona Gabriel jumped the sixth-farthest triple jump mark in program history as she placed ninth in the finals with her leap of 12.45m (40' 10.25").

TCU travels to Philadelphia, Pa., and Abilene, Texas, for two meets to close out the regular season. The Frogs will compete at the Penn Relays (April 27-29) and the Oliver Jackson Twilight (April 27).
