
Johnson Sits in Third After Day One of Heptathlon

Four Horned Frogs advance to tomorrow's finals
NORMAN, Okla. – TCU wrapped up competition on the first day of the Sooner Invitational & Multi on Friday evening at the John Jacobs Track and Field Complex.
Through four events of the women's heptathlon, Jill Johnson ended Day One in third (3132) and Elise Dobson finished in fifth (2918). In their TCU heptathlon debuts, Johnson recorded a personal-best in the shot put (10.99m) while Dobson had PRs in the 100m hurdles and high jump.
Johnson won the high jump with the second-highest outdoor mark in school history (1.71m) and also took second in the 100m hurdles.
In the women's hammer throw, Mathilda Bjorklund placed fifth with her throw of 55.36m (181' 7.0").
Benjamin Kirbo vaulted 4.90m (16' 0.75") in the men's pole vault. In the women's long jump, Emma Seetoo finished third at 6.27m (2.4w) and Dreunna Washington placed seventh with her mark of 6.16m (2.2w).
Several Horned Frogs advanced to tomorrow's finals. Clinton Muunga took fourth in the 100m prelims with his time of 10.39 (1.4w) while Emmanuel Ekong snatched the final spot at ninth with his time of 10.57 (3.7w).
Rachel Hall finished eighth in the 100m prelims with her time of 11.84 (2.1w). In the 100m hurdles, Dobson, who had already competed in all four heptathlon events, secured her spot in the finals with her qualifying time of 15.17 (3.4w).
