Four Horned Frogs combined for seven sets of first team accolades
WACO, Texas – TCU reaffirmed its status as a national power in the collegiate equestrian world on Thursday with the unveiling of the 2022-2023 NCEA Ariat All-American Teams.
Eight athletes combined to claim 12 All-American citations – more than any other program. The Horned Frogs also led the NCEA with seven sets of first team All-American credentials. TCU also set a program record for most first team All-American honors in a single season.
Ashleigh Scully and Jessica McAllister accounted for four of TCU's first team All-American accolades.
Scully received first team recognition in Fences and Flat. She is the first Jumping Seat competitor in program history to be named a first team All-American in both events in the same season.
A junior from Morristown, New Jersey, Scully became a three-time All-American with Thursday's announcement. She has amassed a 62-27-1 combined career record in her TCU tenure. Scully leads TCU's Jumping Seat contingent in total victories (25) in 2022-2023.
McAllister was deemed a first teamer in both Horsemanship and Reining and is now arguably the most decorated All-American in the 17-year history of the program. The junior is the first four-time first team All-American to pass through Fort Worth. McAllister was recognized as a first team All-American in Horsemanship in 2021 and 2022.
Mattie Dukes, Giorgia Medows and Sydney Berube joined their TCU peers atop the first team pedestal. Dukes and Medows were honored in both Western events while Berube topped the list in Fences.
Dukes garnered first team All-American honors in Reining and was also chosen as a second team All-American in Horsemanship. She excels in both events, but Reining was undoubtedly her specialty this season. Entering the NCEA Championships, Dukes holds a 13-1-1 season record in Reining. She has not suffered a defeat in the event in 12 straight outings. Dukes also notched 13 wins in Horsemanship, giving her the team lead in total victories this season. Dukes was named a second team All-American in Horsemanship last spring and received second team All-American laurels in Reining as a sophomore in 2021.
Medows swelled her career All-American tally to three. She was a first team honoree in Horsemanship and recipient of second team All-American honors in Reining. She rode to an impressive 21-7-1 combined record in the regular season.
Berube earned her first-ever All-American accolade on the strength of a 10-2 regular season Fences record.
Isabella Baxter gave TCU three Fences All-Americans, as she was named a second team All-American in the event. Baxter, a graduate student, concludes her TCU career as a four-time All-American. She was a first team honoree in 2019 and 2021 and honorable mention selection in 2021.
McAllister, Dukes and Baxter are the first four-time All-Americans in TCU equestrian history.
Shea Graham and Payton Boutelle rounded out TCU's laundry list of 2022-2023 All-Americans. Both athletes received All-American honorable mention recognition in Horsemanship. Graham is now a three-time All-American while Boutelle picked up her first-ever All-American accolade.
