TCU great is the ninth Horned Frog in the last 10 seasons to be on a Super Bowl team
FORT WORTH -- Former TCU offensive line standout Lucas Niang will be the ninth Horned Frog in the last 10 years to play in the Super Bowl when he takes the field for the Kansas City Chiefs against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday.
Niang was a third-round draft pick of the Chiefs in 2020. He has played in seven games this season. He made nine starts while appearing in 12 contests for Kansas City last year.
Niang was a four-year letterman for the Horned Frogs (2016-19) and an All-Big 12 selection in 2018. He played in 44 games with 27 starts in his TCU career and did not allow a sack in his final two seasons.
This will be the 12th Super Bowl in the last 15 years that TCU has had at least one player in the game. Thirteen different Horned Frogs have been on Super Bowl teams in that stretch. Niang is looking to become the 23rd Horned Frog to be a Super Bowl Champion.
