
Missouri Rallies To Hand TCU Extra Inning Loss

Bishop drives in four runs in the game
ARLINGTON, Texas – Missouri took advantage of two 10th inning errors to score the go-ahead run and held on for the 9-8 victory over No. 15 TCU in the final game of the Higginbotham College Baseball Showdown at Globe Life Field Sunday night.
The Rundown
Missouri and TCU traded two spots in the ninth inning to send the game into extras. The Tigers took the lead on a pair of two out base hits only to see the Frogs answer in the bottom of the inning. The Horned Frogs tied the contest on a bases-loaded two-out single from David Bishop.
In the 10th, with two on and one out, a stolen base and an errant throw to second allowed Missouri's eventual game-winning run to score.
TCU opened up a 6-2 lead through four innings. Brayden Taylor tied the game at one with a base hit and Bishop put the Frogs in front 3-1 with a one-out double.
Three more runs crossed the plate in the fourth. A pair of walks opened the inning. An errant throw on a sacrifice attempt made it 4-2. Anthony Silva grounded out to drive in a run and Anthony Davis doubled home another run for a 6-2 lead.
A Missouri run in the fifth started the Tigers on the comeback trail. They picked up two more runs in the seventh, aided by a two out error, to pull within one, 6-5. A lead-off triple in the eighth turned into the tying run.
Sam Stoutenborough started for the Frogs and allowed two runs on seven hits over four innings. He fanned seven and walked one. Garrett Wright (0-1) took the loss after allowing three runs (two earned) on three hits in two innings.
