
Horned Frogs Move to 10-1 with Home Victory vs. Texas A&M

FORT WORTH – The Horned Frogs took the victory at Bear Creek Farms over No. 3 Texas A&M, 15-4. It marked TCU's 10th win of the season and sixth win over NCEA top-10 opponents.
The meet started in the Jumping Seat arena with Fences, where the Horned Frogs swept the Aggies, 5-0. Ashleigh Scully led the charge edging her Aggie opponent 85-84 on Callisto. Isabella Baxter rode her way to an 86 on Fats to put the second point of the day on the board for the Horned Frogs. The freshman, Jordyn Scelsa, tallies another win on the season with an 83-77 victory on Van. Sydney Berube rode her way to the highest score of the event and an MOP with an 87. Ella Bostwick completes the sweep for this fabulous five with a 10-point deficit over her opponent, 84-74 on Java.
The meet moved into the Western arena for a back-and-forth Reining competition. Texas A&M's Lisa Bricker started the event off with a strong 71 that would just be edged by Giorgia Medows with a 71.5 on Britney to earn the point. Texas A&M would put their first point of the day on the board outscoring Shea Graham 69.5-67 on Jet and earning the MOP for Reining. Mattie Dukes did not shy away as she entered the arena in eight spot riding her way to a 69-66.5 victory on Alfie. Jessica McAllister tied the bow on top of the 3-2 Reining victory with a 68 on Bob, giving the Frogs an 8-2 lead at the halfway mark.
Back in action in the Jumping Seat arena where TCU took the victory 3-2 in Flat. Ashleigh Scully goes 2-0 on the day with an 88-87 win on Mac. Wynne Weatherly rode her way to a career high 93 on Gipsy, securing the MOP for the event with style. Laurel Smith wrapped the event by tying her career high with a 91-82 victory on Lina.
The Horsemanship five finished up the meet for TCU securing its second sweep of the day with a 4-0 victory. Jessica McAllister drew the one hole and did not hesitate riding her way to tie the event high score of a 76.5 and securing the MOP from the jump. Shea Graham, Mattie Dukes, and Payton Boutelle followed suit respectfully with a 71, 76.5, and 76 on the day.
The Frogs ended the meet with victories in all four events.

The Horned Frogs will return to action Feb. 25 when they travel north to Stillwater, Okla. to take on No. 7 Oklahoma State.
