Frogs improve to 5-0
Fort Worth: TCU Women's Tennis brought down the Dons on Saturday to improve their record to 5-0 on the season.
TCU (5-0) beat the San Francisco Dons (1-3) 6-1 in the first match of a home doubleheader.
The Horned Frogs took control of the match early on with the clinch of the doubles point. The No. 31 ranked doubles team in the country Helena Narmont and Yu-Chin Tsai remain undefeated on the season with a 6-1 win. Destinee Martins and Tiphanie Lemaitre put the first point on the board for the Frogs with a 6-4 doubles win.
Up 1-0, TCU did not let up in singles play. Jade Otway went back and forth in the first set with San Francisco's Simran Chhabra. The sophomore managed to start with a 1-0 set lead with a 6-4 win. She dominated the second set 6-0 putting the Frogs in a comfortable 2-0 lead.
Coming off a Big 12 Player of the Week performance Mercedes Aristegui continues to lead the Frogs in impressive fashion. She only dropped three games with a 6-2, 6-1 victory over Chiho Mushika.
Narmont has built upon her impressive start to the season. The sophomore brought down the Dons' Hana Gamracy clinching the match for the Frogs to remain unbeaten.
The remaining singles matches played out with Destinee Martins winning 6-3, 6-4 on court No. 4. Finally, the Ole Miss transfer Tiphanie Lemaitre capped off the Frogs 6-1 victory at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center.
