Miller leads TCU with 24 points

HONOLULU – Emanuel Miller scored 24 points in TCU's 88-75 loss to Nevada in the semifinal round of the Diamond Head Classic on Friday at the Stan Sheriff Center.

Miller was 5-of-9 from the field, but did the most damage at the free throw line where he was 13-of-14. The senior forward also led the team in rebounds with eight.

The Horned Frogs (9-2) trailed the majority of the game and as many as 20 with 14:30 to play in the second half. A 16-5 run cut the deficit to nine points, 67-58, following two free throws by Miller.

The Wolf Pack (11-1) immediately pushed the lead to double-digits and continued to connect from the field, shooting 52.0 percent for the game and was 8-of-17 from 3-point range. Guard Jarod Lucas led the effort with 25 points and was 13-of-13 from the line.

Joining Miller in double figures were Avery Anderson III with 11 points and Micah Peavy with 11.

TCU will face Hawai'i in the third place game at 5:30 p.m. CT on ESPN2.

Team Notes

TCU fell to 3-1 all-time against Nevada.
TCU outrebounded Nevada, 32-26, and fell to 7-1 this season and 122-37 under Dixon when outrebounding its opponent.
TCU fell to 31-14 under Dixon in neutral site games.
TCU fell to 94-15 against nonconference opponents under Dixon.
Under Dixon, TCU is 77-13 in the months of November and December combined.
TCU, which entered the game first in the nation in fastbreak points, finished with 19.

Emanuel Miller finished a team-high 24 points. He scored in double-figures for the 10th-straight game. It was his third game this season with 20 or more points.
Miller led the team in rebounds for the third time this season and finished with eight.
Miller was 13-of-14 from the free throw line, a season-high for makes and attempts.
Avery Anderson III scored in double figures for the first time in four games with 11.
Micah Peavy scored in double figures for the ninth time this season with 11 points.
Xavier Cork's seven points were his most in six games.
