
TCU Drops Match to Iowa State

FORT WORTH – TCU dropped a three-set match to Iowa State on Saturday night at Ed and Rae Schollmaier Arena.
Jalyn Gibson recorded a team-best 12 kills in the loss.
The Rundown
Despite losing the first set 25-14, TCU responded well in the second set and jumped out to an early 3-1 lead off a Jalyn Gibson kill. Iowa State climbed back and tied the set at 6-6, but the Horned Frogs continued to battle and a kill from Sarah Sylvester gave TCU the 11-10 lead.
The Cyclones took the lead once again and TCU was able to tie the set at 18-18. However, Iowa State took the 19-18 lead and never looked back, winning the set 25-22.
TCU trailed early in the third set, but an Audrey Nalls kill gave TCU the 8-7 lead. The third set continued to be a back-and-forth battle as the set was tied 15 different times. A kill from Brianna Green gave TCU the 14-13 edge, but Iowa State was there once again to take the lead.
Trailing by three points, TCU climbed back and a kill from Gibson tied the set at 23-23 before the Cyclones scored back-to-back points to win the third set 25-23.
