Bailey tops 1,000 yards on the season
During their time together in the Big 12 Conference, the Horned Frogs went 8-4 against the Longhorns.
The Horned Frogs trailed 26-6 entering the fourth quarter, before outscoring the Longhorns 20-3. TCU held Texas to three points and 151 yards of offense in the second half.
A pair of Josh Hoover touchdown passes to JP Richardson and Savion Williams in a 2:23 span brought TCU within 29-26 with 3:28 to play. On the ensuing series, Texas faced a 3rd-and-12 at its own 13 before a 35-yard completion brought a first down and sealed the game.
Williams had a career-best game with 11 receptions for 164 yards, including a 14-yard touchdown, for his first 100-yard effort. His seven first-half receptions surpassed his previous high of six catches against BYU earlier this season.
Emani Bailey's 17-yard touchdown run, which put him over 1,000 yards on the season, brought TCU within 26-13 with 14:02 to play in the game. A key play on the six play, 74-yard drive was a 42-yard completion from Hoover to Williams. Hoover completed 24-of-36 passes for 302 yards, his third 300-yard game in four career starts.
Griffin Kell had field goals of 41 and 56 yards, the latter being 1 yard shy of equaling his school record for distance.
