
Records Broken and Zone Cuts Earned Against BYU

Women win 238-134 and Men 200-172
FORT WORTH – TCU swimming and diving took down BYU in its home opener and first dual meet of the season Friday, winning 19 of the 40 events at the University Rec Center.
Nina Vadovicova set two school records in the pool while Ollie Cazaly earned two zone cuts and Anna Kwong earned zone cuts in all three diving events on the boards.
IN THE POOL
Vadovicova set two program records and earned NCAA "B" Cuts in the 100 and 200 Breastroke with times of 1:00:75 and 2:11.30 respectively.
The Frogs had the trifecta in three events against the Cougars. Jadon Wuilliez, Kito Comossato and Nikola Koltin swept the men's 100 breastroke. Vadovicova, Claire Chahbandour and Ella Stein claimed the women's 100 breastroke. To round out the sweeps, Alessandra Senis, Morgan Gore and Inge Ehm finished 1-2-3 in the women's 200 fly.
The women's team took home the gold in all four relays. In the morning session, Tania Quaglieri, Jeanne Dahmen, Vadovicova and Serena Gould placed first in the 400 medley relay with a time of 3:40.51. In the 400 yard freestyle, Gould, Mikayla Popham, Lexi Drap and Olivia Rhodes swam a time of 3:23.47.
In the evening session, Quaglieri Vadovicova, Dahmen and Rhaniska Gibbs earned the victory in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:40.62. To finish off the relay sweep, Gould, Popham, Rhodes and Gibbs swam a 1:32.93 in the 200 freestyle.
On the men's side Milan Fabian was victorious in both the 200 and 500 freestyle (1:39.32, 4:29.22). The Frogs took first and third in the 200 medley relay with a times of 1:27.52 and 1:28.27 respectively.
To secure the win for the Horned Frogs Geremia Freri outswam his heat in the 200 IM with a time of 1:49.30.
ON THE BOARD
Cazaly took first place and earned zone cuts in both springboard events while also placing second on the platform. He bested his personal record on the 3 meter with a score of 393.85 to retain his spot in the TCU record book.
Kwong continues to shine for the Horned Frogs with victories on both the 1 meter and platform. The junior placed second on the 3 meter after Cougar opponent edged her 308.85-308.15 in the event.
UP NEXT
The Horned Frogs are set to head south to Austin on Friday, Oct. 20 to take on the Texas Longhorns.
