
TCU Hits The Road For Top-10 Match-Up At Nebraska

Horned Frogs remain No. 1 in the rankings
FORT WORTH – The No. 1-ranked TCU women's rifle team will hit the road for the first time this spring as they head to No. 6 Nebraska for a dual match. The Horned Frogs lead the nation in air rifle average and rank second in smallbore and aggregate average.
TCU has had a banner season on the range, firing seven of the top 10 marks in program history. In their first two matches of the spring season, TCU turned in team scores of 4,750 and 4,741 against Ohio State.
The Horned Frogs will send five shooters to Lincoln. Making the trek will be Abigail Gordon, Stephanie Grundsoee, Kristen Hemphill, Julie Johannessen and Katie Zaun.
All five shooters traveling rank in the top 18 nationally in aggregate average. Grundsoee is second nationally (1,188.57) followed closely by Johannessen (1,188.25). Gordon sits 11th nationally (1,183.38), Zaun is 12th(1,182.83) and Hemphill 18th (1,179.78).
TCU leads the nation in air rifle (2,384.1). The Frogs have four shooters ranked in the top 10 nationally and five in the top 14. Grundsoee ranks fourth (597.29) followed by Johannessen in sixth, Hemphill in seventh and Zaun in ninth.
The Frogs also boast three of the top 10 smallbore shooters in the country. Johannessen sits third nationally (592.00) followed by Grundsoee in fourth (591.29) and Gordon in eighth (558.63).
Nebraska is one of six teams to average an aggregate score over 4,700 this season, sitting at 4,708.11. The Cornhuskers are led by Ceclia Ossi who paces the team in smallbore average (588.29) ad aggregate score (1,181.57). Emma Rhode is the top air rifle shooter (594.67).
The match is slated to begin at 7:45 a.m.
