TCU Finishes Fifth at Big 12 Championship

Frimodt led the Frogs for the first time this season
TRINITY, Texas – Junior Gustav Frimodt led the TCU men's golf team with a 19th place finish Wednesday at the Big 12 Men's Golf Championship at Whispering Pines Golf Club.
Frimodt shot 5-over 77 on the day and 5-over 221 for the tournament. It was the junior's second top 20 finish of the season and the first time he was TCU's top finisher.
Fort Worth's Brandon Massey was two shots back of Frimodt at 7-over 223 and finished tied for 22nd.
Chris Berzina and Aymeric Laussot tied for 29th at 9-over 225. Laussot shot even-par for the day, the Frogs' top third round score. He made five birdies and an eagle after driving the green on the 14th hole, a 370-yard par 4.
Texas Tech's Ludvig Adberg was the Big 12 Champion at 8-under 208.
As a team, the Horned Frogs finished in fifth place after going 12-over 300 for the round and 25-over 889 for the tournament. The four teams to finish ahead of TCU are all currently ranked in the top nine nationally. No. 1-ranked Oklahoma (-14) won the team championship, edging out No. 2 Oklahoma State (-12).
The NCAA Men's Golf Selection Show will take place Wednesday, May 4 at 3 p.m. on GOLF Channel.
