TCU’s Rally Falls Short At Louisville

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – TCU tried to climb out of a 9-0 deficit but came up a run short in a 9-8 loss at Louisville on Tuesday afternoon. Elijah Nunez continued his hot streak at the plate with his fourth straight multi-hit game.
The Rundown
TCU's rally started in the seventh as it struck for four runs on four hits. With the bases loaded and one out, Elijah Nunez singled to drive in the Frogs' first run of the game. A wild pitch allowed another run to score and Brayden Taylor followed with a two-run double to make it a 9-4 ballgame.
Four more runs crossed the plate in the eighth as the Frogs took advantage of five Louisville pitchers. TCU had a run in on a hit batter and three walks as Nunez picked up his second RBI of the game. Luke Boyers followed with a two-run single to pull the Frogs within two, 9-7. David Bishop singled to drive in Nunez, but Boyers was thrown out at home to end the inning.
Louisville built a 9-0 lead through the first six innings of the ballgame. The Cardinals opened the scoring with two in the second. They added one in the fourth, five in the fifth and one in the sixth to open up the sizable lead.
Cam Brown (2-1) allowed three runs on six hits, walked three and fanned two in the loss. Cohen Feser turned in two solid innings of relief, retiring all six batters he faced and recording two strikeouts.

10 – TCU drew 10 free passes in the game. The Frogs walked nine times and were hit by the pitch once.
