
Boyers Hits Walk-Off Home Run In Game 1

FORT WORTH – Luke Boyers' two out, three-run home run completed No. 21 TCU's come-from-behind 6-4 win over Army in Game 1 of a Saturday doubleheader. The Horned Frogs rallied to post their second win of the season when trailing after eight innings.
The Rundown
With two on and two out, Luke Boyers launched a 1-0 pitch off the foul pole in left field for the walk-off victory. David Bishop and Gray Rodgers reached to open the inning, setting the table for Boyers' heroics.
Cohen Feser (1-0) did a tremendous job in relief on the mound to keep the deficit at just one. He allowed just two hits and struck out four in four innings of work.
Army jumped out to an early 1-0 lead as it took advantage of a lead-off walk and an failed pick-off attempt. A two out single from Nick Manesis put Army in front. Another errant pick-off throw in the second gifted the Black Knights another run.
The teams traded home runs in the third. Army made it a 4-0 lead with a two-run shot in the top of the inning. Kurtis Byrne answered with a three-run blast in the bottom of the frame to make it a 4-3 ballgame.
Riley Cornelio started and allowed four runs (two earned) on three hits. He walked four and struck out seven in the no-decision.
