Super senior passes Zahna Medley's all-time record of 1,975 career points
LUBBOCK, Texas – Four different TCU players scored in double-figures, but it wasn't enough in an 83-79 Big 12 Conference road loss to the Texas Tech Lady Raiders Wednesday evening at United Supermarkets Arena.
THE RUNDOWN
The Horned Frogs battled back from a 12-point deficit to tie the game at 57-all at the end of the third quarter, but a back-and-forth final quarter ultimately ended up going the Lady Raiders way. Texas Tech led by as many as eight points early in the fourth quarter until Lauren Heard drained a lay-up, pulling the Frogs within two – down 78-76 with 40 seconds left to play.
Texas Tech missed its next bucket, but managed to get the offensive rebound and putback, which also included an and-one opportunity. TCU again got back within two points, down 81-79, but a foul on a rebound sent the ball to the other end of the court where the home team secured the win with a pair of free throws.
