
TCU Drops Road Match at Baylor

Horned Frogs fall in Big 12 Conference opener
WACO, Texas – TCU women's tennis (8-6) suffered a loss to Baylor (10-4) in the Big 12 season opener on Thursday afternoon, 7-0, at the Hurd Center. TCU dropped the doubles point in a hard-fought battle before Baylor won all six singles matches.
TCU came out with good energy in doubles. The No. 1 pairing for TCU – Mercedes Aristegui and Isabel Pascual - fell behind 3-5, only to battle back by winning two deuce points for a hold and a break, tying the match back up, 5-5 against the No. 5-ranked pair in the nation. Their comeback was cut short after Baylor secured a late break at No. 2 to go in front, 5-6, holding serve to clinch the doubles point.
Baylor won all six singles matches in straight sets. This is the first 7-0 loss for TCU this season.
