Celli finishes 20th to lead the Horned Frogs
WAIMEA, Hawaii – Filippo Celli led the TCU men's golf team with a 20th place finish at the Amer Ari Invitational at the Hapuna Golf Course in Waimea, Hawaii.
Celli shot under par for the third-straight round at 1-under 71. He finished at 8-under 208 in his season debut.
Competing as an individual, Justin Gums shot even-par 72 on Saturday. The senior finished 3-under 213 and tied for 45th place. Gustav Frimodt also finished under par for the tournament at 1-under 215 after shooting 1-over 73 in the final round.
Thomas Allkins had the best round of the day for TCU, making five birdies to shoot 4-under 68.
Going up against 10 of the nation's top 25 teams, TCU finished in 14th place with a score of 9-under 855.
The Horned Frogs will return to action Feb. 21-23 at The Prestige, held at The Club at PGA West in La Quinta, Calif.
