Damion Baugh leads TCU with 17 points

FORT WORTH - Without its leading scorer, the TCU men's basketball team dropped a 75-63 game to Kansas State Saturday in front of an announced crowd of 7,581 at Schollmaier Arena.

Mike Miles, who began the day ranked fifth in the Big 12 Conference in scoring at 15.4 points per game, was unable to play due to injury.

With Miles out, Francisco Farabello stepped up and scored a career-high 14 points. Damion Baugh played a career-high 38 minutes and scored 17 points, including three 3-pointers. Emanuel Miller rounded out the double-figure scorers with 13 points to go with a team-high eight rebounds.

TCU (15-5, 4-4) grabbed a 2-0 lead, but didn't lead again the rest of the game. Trailing 35-28 at halftime, TCU went on a 9-4 run to get within two, 39-37, with 16:58 to play. That was as close as TCU would get in the second half as Kansas State (12-10, 4-6) shot 46.4 percent from the field and 75.0 percent (15-of-20) from the free throw line.

Nijel Pack scored a game-high 20 points for the Wildcats, who won their second-straight game.

The Horned Frogs continue a two-game homestand on Tuesday at 6 p.m. against Oklahoma State. The game will air on ESPNU.

TCU moved to 10-20 all-time against Kansas State.
TCU outrebounded Kansas State (36-33) it was the 16th time in the last 17 games it has outrebounded the opponent.
TCU moved to 14-3 this season and 95-29 under Dixon when outrebounding its opponent.
The announced attendance of 7,581 was the second-most ever in Schollmaier Arena. The student attendance of 2,386 was also the second-most. TCU's attendance at the Texas game on Jan. 25 of 8,412 (3,594) remains the program record in both categories.

Individual Notes

Francisco Farabello scored a career-high 14 points. His previous high was 12, earlier this season at Oklahoma State.
Farabello tied a season high with two 3-pointers.
Damion Baugh scored 17 points to lead TCU in scoring for the fourth time this season.
Baugh was 3-of-8 from 3-point range, tying a career-high for makes.

Eddie Lampkin tied his career-high in assists with three for the third time this season .
Emanuel Miller had 13 points, his first game in double-digits in 10 games (Grambling).
Miller had a team-high eight rebounds. It was the 10th time he led the team in rebounding.
Chuck O'Bannon was 1-of-8 from 3-point range for eight points. He has made a three-pointer in 16-of-20 games this season.
