Nine Horned Frogs on first team; Duggan, Dykes receive individual awards
FORT WORTH -- Nine TCU players were First-Team All-Big 12 by the Associated Press with Max Duggan and Sonny Dykes unanimous choices as Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year and Coach of the Year, respectively.
The Horned Frogs' six first-team selections on offense were center Alan Ali, guard Steve Avila, quarterback Max Duggan, wide receiver Quentin Johnston, place-kicker Griffin Kell and running back Kendre Miller. The three defensive first-team recipients were cornerbacks Tre'Vius Hodges-Tomlinson and Josh Newton and linebacker Dee Winters.
Second-team honorees were wide receiver/return specialist Derius Davis at all-purpose and linebacker Johnny Hodges.
No. 3 TCU faces No. 2 Michigan on Dec. 31 in the College Football Playoff Vrbo Fiesta Bowl in Glendale, Ariz.
