Four Horned Frogs Receive FWAA All-America Honors

Avila, Davis, Duggan and Hodges-Tomlinson Recognized
DALLAS -- Four TCU players have received All-America honors from the Football Writers Association of America.
Offensive guard Steve Avila and punt returner Derius Davis are first-team selections, while quarterback Max Duggan and cornerback Tre'Vius Hodges-Tomlinson were named to the second team.
Avila, also a Walter Camp First-Team All-American and Outland Trophy Semifinalist, is a Team Captain and anchor of an offensive line that paves the way for one of the nation's most prolific offensive attacks. Davis is one of five players nationally with multiple punt returns for touchdowns this season. His 13.9-yard average is fourth in the FBS.
Duggan, a Heisman Trophy Finalist, won the Davey O'Brien Award and Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award. He is ninth in the nation in passing efficiency with a 165.5 rating while leading the Big 12 with 30 touchdown passes and 36 touchdowns responsible for. Hodges-Tomlinson, the Paycom Jim Thorpe Award winner, totaled 42 tackles, including two for loss, with three interceptions, 11 pass breakups and a forced fumble. He took part in a takeaway in four consecutive games.
