Nalls was a unanimous selection; Williams was one of three setters to receive the honor
IRVING – TCU's conference counterparts have put the pen to paper and are on consensus that Audrey Nalls and Callie Williams are among the Big 12's best.

Nalls and Williams garnered All-Big 12 First Team accolades on Tuesday as voted on by conference head coaches.

Nalls, a 6-2 outside hitter, was one of five unanimous selections.

Williams was one of three setters to receive the recognition. She is the first setter in TCU's Big 12 era to nab postseason all-conference honors.

Tuesday's announcement marks the first time since 2018 that TCU has produced multiple All-Big 12 First Team honorees. Nalls and Williams joined Yvonne Igodan (2013), Natalie Gower (2016), elan McCall (2018) and Anna Walsh (2018) as one of six players in program history to be recognized across the All-Big 12 First Team landscape.

Nalls' unanimous selection was no surprise.

She concluded the regular season as the Big 12's leader in kills (266), kills per set (4.39), points (293) and points per set (4.80). Earlier on Tuesday, Nalls became the first player in 2022 to be named Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week four times in a season and just the ninth in conference history to accomplish the feat. The Waxahachie, Texas native averaged 17.7 kills per match in Big 12 action. Nalls notched a conference-leading eight performances with 20-or-more kills, seven of which came at the expense of Big 12 opposition. TCU went 6-1 in conference play when Nalls exceeded the threshold.

Nalls sits nine kills shy of reaching 400 for the season ahead of TCU's match vs. No. 25 Washington on Friday in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. Should Nalls land kill No. 400 against the Huskies, she will become the eighth player in program history and first since 2011 to hit the milestone.

She is averaging 3.8 kills per set as TCU readies for its return trip to the Big Dance. Her kill per set average will rank sixth on TCU's individual single season records list once the Horned Frogs' postseason run concludes.

While Nalls was TCU's offensive enforcer, Williams proved to be the table-setter all season long.

She led TCU in assists (965), digs (253) and double-doubles (12) and ranked second on the squad in service aces (24).

Williams strung together 10 consecutive double-doubles – all of which came in Big 12 play – from Oct. 8-Nov. 19, helping the Horned Frogs to an 8-2 record in that span.

The Horned Frogs went 11-1 in the regular season when Williams dished out 40-plus assists and were 10-2 when she achieved a double-double.

TCU closed the regular season as winners of 11 of its final 14 matches after pivoting to a 5-1 rotation and anointing Williams as its primary setter.

Williams finished second in Big 12 play in total assists with 623. Her 10.21 assist-per-set average was fourth-best among all setters. She also ranked 10th in the Big 12 in digs per set (2.69).

Originally from Waco, Texas, Williams began transmitting across the postseason all-conference radar in full force following TCU's four-set takedown of Texas Tech on Nov. 5. Williams dished out 60 assists in the victory on her way to her first career set of Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week honor. She became the first setter on record to receive weekly All-Big 12 recognition.

More milestones await Williams in the postseason. She will become TCU's first Big 12 setter to record 1,000 assists in a season should she land 35 more in the Horned Frogs' first round match vs. Washington. Her career assist-per-set average in purple and white (9.50) is on track to rank sixth in program history.
