STILLWATER, Okla. – Gracie Morris' historic season wrapped up at the NCAA Cross Country Championships on Saturday morning at the Greiner Family OSU Cross Country Course.
The Aledo, Texas, native placed 142nd overall with her time of 20:52.4 in the women's 6K.
She showed off her kick once again as she was sitting in 151st before entering the final stretch. She passed nine runners in the last leg of the race to clinch her 142nd-place finish.
She was the first TCU runner to qualify for the NCAA Championships since Brenley Goertzen in 2016.
To advance to the NCAA Cross Country Championships, Morris ran a personal-best 20:17.1 to finish second in the women's 6K at the NCAA South Central Regional. She recorded the highest individual finish for TCU ever on the women's side at the South Central Regional since 2003 when Mary Kinyanjui won the meet.
Morris was the leading runner for the TCU women's team in every meet this season. No stranger to the NCAA stage, she represented the Horned Frogs at the NCAA Outdoor Championships in the 1500m where she garnered Honorable Mention honors.
